Surprisingly, that title isn't meant ironically. I actually enjoyed wholesome family fun today! A good chunk of my day was spent in a setting worthy of a Norman Rockwell painting.
My sister Erin, her partner Veronica, their daughter Megan, Veronica's grandson Devante, and I all visited a local apple orchard for a dose of autumnal entertainment. (This is exactly how we homos are going to destroy the American family, you see. We infiltrate, we buy apples, and we chortle as hetero marriages crumble around us...)
We hit the road about 10:30. Megan and her nephew Devante were ready for action. Miss Megan looked especially fierce in her stylin' shades. Devante was playin' it cool...
After a short drive, we arrived at the orchard and strolled with the other apple-seekers towards the hub of activity. By this point, Megan had decided on an even hipper way to way her shades. (Note Uncle WG, visible in the left lens.)
Megan and Devante spent a while vrooming about on tractors. There weren't any rides my size, so I just took pictures.
Before we left, we made a stop at the very enticing orchard store, and I bought some tasty treats: an apple crisp mix, two really tasty apple-oatmeal cookies, a few apples, a jar of pumpkin butter, and a packet of mulled cider spices.
The kids seemed to enjoy the shopping, too. Non-ironic fun was had by all!
What kind of fruity fun did YOU have today?
