Over the weekend, Darren's nephew, Max, commissioned a hat from me. Good Wisconsin boy that he is, Max wants his hat to be in Green Bay Packers colors.
Max is just six, but he has definite design ideas. "I want it to start with a yellow stwipe, then a gween stwipe, then a yellow, then a gween. At the top I want a yellow and gween pompon."
A trip to Michael's was in order. Yes, Michael's. I'll make a Packers hat, but I'm not laying out big bucks for the yarn. So, for a grand total of four dollars, I have enough yarn for five Packers stocking caps. I'm knitting on size six needles to make a dense, warm hat.
My payment for this project? Two press-on tattoos. Max applied the first one, a tribal-style sun, to my arm on Saturday. When I finish the cap, I'll be presented with a shark tattoo.
Smart little businessman, that Max. He knew if he gave me the shark right away, I'd dawdle over the hat. This way I have incentive to finish it quickly.
I'm going to look BADASS with a shark tattoo, and you know it!
