The Alanis Morissette concert Darren and I attended last Saturday night was excellent. We had great seats, and Alanis played nearly all the songs I had hoped to hear. She opened with one of my favorites, Uninvited. I scored a point off Darren on that one, because on the drive to the Orpheum he told me he thought she would skip that song. Oh ye of little faith (in my prescience)!
My favorite song on her most recent CD is Torch, one of several tracks about her break-up with Ryan Reynolds. Maybe the fact that he just married Scarlett Johansson two weeks ago made that one harder to sing, but for whatever reason, I didn't get to hear it.
Cameras were allowed in the concert as long as no flash was used, so during a semi-acoustic set in the middle of the show, I walked down near the stage and snapped the picture above. (Yes, her hair is a bit too long.)
We only paid $60 a piece for our tickets, and we got far more than our money's worth. If she comes through your town, I'd definitely try to catch the show.
Editor's Note: Posts may be a little sparse this week, because I have to really crank to finish the hat I'm making for my two-color knitting class. The last class is Thursday night. So if I miss a day of blogging, please don't worry that I've been assumed bodily into heaven. I'll be back to my regular schedule next week.
