Monday we spent a long, mostly enjoyable day visiting Oxford, Stratford on Avon, and Warwick Castle. It would have been entirely enjoyable had our tour guide possessed the ability to stop talking for even a second, but she kept up her patter non-stop (much of it comprised of stream of thought spew about the courses her kids took at college) for the six hour round-trip bus ride. (And that doesn't count her actual tour-guide duties at the three sites we visited. She was very good at the part.)
She very nearly drove us mad on the bus, though.
That said, here are some pictures from the day.
Oxford (as told to us through a veneer of Harry Potter trivia, much of which was shot at locations around the university)
(Yes, here's where Harry first enters Hogwarts.)
Then it was on to Stratford to visit Shakespeare's home. Darren and I had no interest in that, so we spent that hour browsing in a hip modern furniture store. I did take two pictures in Stratford, however.
The Bard's Home
The highlight of Stratford--a very sweet Border Terrier we met. His name is Fenn, and he's three years old and incredibly calm. Hard to believe our hyper little pup is the same breed!
By far our favorite part of the day was the time we spent at Warwick Castle. We had a great time wandering the grounds and enjoying the castle's panoramic view of the countryside.
Continuing to have a gay old time,
