I have a retinal schisis. Now don't go freaking out. It's not as oogie as it sounds.
It's a little hole down in the lower right corner of my retina. According to the retinal specialist I saw a couple months ago, it's not likely to result in a detachment or other nasty thing.
The only way I would know I have this little defect is that about five times a day, a little point of bright light zips across my upper field of vision.
That's actually pretty annoying when you get right down to it. I'll just be working or chatting with a friend, and suddenly my mini-light-show goes off.
Positive sort of chap that I am, I've named these flashes of light "my little pixie." Somehow that makes it better. I don't have a defect in my eye--I have a special little magical companion who visits me several times a day.
Aren't I a lucky man?
