One last item I forgot to mention in my post this morning--on our last night in NYC, Darren and I had dinner at cool place in the East Village called "The Bourgeois Pig."
It was too dark in there to get a good photo, so I'm borrowing this one from the restaurant's website. It's was all very red. (And dark. I believe I mentioned that.)
We enjoyed a delicious goat cheese and wild mushroom tart as an appetizer, followed by a very nice cheese fondue.
We ate the the bar, and perhaps the highlight of the evening was chatting with a very handsome friendly chap as he mixed up a dazzling array of creative wine cocktails. (Since the restaurant is within 200 feet of a church, they aren't permitted a full liquor license.)
You can't really see our bar-tending pal very well in this picture, but he was the tastiest morsel in the house.
Did I mention it was dark and red in there?
Great place to eat. Check it out if you get the chance.
